Emergency Fire Door Lock Replacement in Highfield, S2
A commercial customer in Highfield, S2 got in touch late on a Sunday evening after the mortice sashlock on their fire escape door had completley jammed and failed. The door is a high security steel fire door, so getting it opened and secured properly the same night was the priority.
I attended that evening, got the door open and temporarily secured for the customer. A new lock case was ordered and fitted and the cylinder was also upgraded to an APECS AP 3 star diamond grade anti snap lock. This brings the door up to the latest fire regulation standards and gives the customer a proper long-term fix rather than a temporary repair.
Anti-Snap Lock Upgrade - Bifold Doors, Bents Green, S11
A customer in Bents Green, S11 asked me to look at the security on their aluminium bifold doors. The existing cylinder wasn't anti-snap rated, and the escutcheon cover plates had been removed at some point, leaving the lock completley exposed.
We fitted a matt black 3-star anti snap Yale Platinum cylinder, along with a pair of Ultion Sweet black euro escutcheons. As well as bringing the doors up to a proper security standard, the black finish gives a cleaner, more finished look.
Winkhaus Cobra Lock Mechanism Replacement - Nether Edge, S7
A customer in Nether Edge, S7 needed their 15 year old Winkhaus Cobra locking mechanism replaced. Over the years the door had become misaligned, leaving too big a gap between the door edge and the frame. This was causing the hooks to catch rather than fully engage, which was the cause of the failure.
Rather than just replacing the broken part and leaving the underlying issue to cause the same problem again, I adjusted the hinges and realigned the locking keeps. The door was left working smoother than it did when it was first installed.
Locinox Gate Cylinder Replacement - Greystones, S11
A customer in Greystones, S11 needed the cylinder replaced on a Locinox alleyway gate after it jammed and broke. These locks need to be fully removed from the gate to access the fixing screw, so while it was off I took the opportunity to service and check the condition of the lock case at the same time.
As the alleyway was shared with the neighbouring property, the customer needed extra keys cut, 6 in total supplied between both properties. The gate was left secure and working perfectley again.
Anti Snap Locks Fitted In Sheffield
